For me, writing is a processing style. When I'm inspired, when I'm stuck, when I'm processing through emotions, I write. I often write without a goal in mind, just knowing that creating is helping. Afterward, I discover that no one have I figured out something about myself but I've also created something that I want to share with others. I hope that my writing will entertain, yes, but more importantly, I hope that my writing will give space to my readers to feel their feelings and ask questions about the world they live in.

I started writing in an "I just can't stop" kind of way when I was 13 years old. That's when I wrote my first novel. Then I re-wrote it in my 2o's and again in my 30's. It just kept being a useful way to learn about myself.Â

I say this because I hope that young people now can use this example to validate their own writing, no matter their age, and BELIEVE that they should keep going and eventually share with the world!

About the Author
Fun Fact 2
I'm a nerd and I love meeting other nerds. Want to talk about Pokemon? Dungeons and Dragons? Video games? Anime? Puppetry and animation? Movie facts? Animal facts?Â
The whole truth!
Employment
I'm a high school teacher in Ontario, Canada. I teach English, ESL and Drama. I love teaching because it helps me feel connected to people and because helping people to learn new skills is deeply satisfying and because writing poetry and novels is a much slower way to inspire others...
The job OTHER THAN author:
Fun Fact 1
My favourite fruit are raspberries. I don't care that they have so many seeds. That juicy, tart and sweet flavour is worth it!

Other Talents:

Artist
I love to draw and paint although I have in no way monetized that skill. I do it for fun and because it's nice to have pretty things around me!
Mother
I have two kids. They are FULL of energy. I love that about them. It is also exhausting. But when I'm really tired and I ask myself, "Why is this so hard?" I also remind myself that it's difficult to parent well. So, I must be doing a good job. So, what I'm saying is that my kids have taught me how to reverse engineer self-confidence out of the feelings of I don't know what I'm doing!
You know?
Gardener
Flowers, vegetables, trees, moss, mushrooms... I want one of everything. I want to watch things grow. I want to go into my backyard and have a snack. Except now I go out into the yard to relax and I find myself with a fist full of weeds and a watering can and twelve more jobs to do. It just happens so fast!
Performer
As a Drama teacher I perform. And I like to sing, even if it makes me much more nervous than public speaking. I joined a band! And that felt riskier than trying to publish my writing. Upcoming goals: To become much more involved in improv. Maybe even... competitively.
